Brief:

Transportable Solutions was commissioned to design and manufacture an additional 28 identical four-bedroom accommodation units, each with ensuites, providing housing for over 100 people.

The project also included the design and fabrication of walkway verandas with fire-rated decking to meet Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) compliance.


Scope of work:

  • Detailed design, including all structural, mechanical, plumbing/hydraulic and electrical components
  • Manufacture 28 identical buildings including all plumbing, electrical and mechanical FF&E
  • Secure Buildings to ensure safe and prepare for transportation
  • Supply 10,000LM of Fire Rated Decking 
  • Ensuring specifications were to Bush Fire Attack Level (BAL) requirements


Challenges:

  • Managing tight timeframes to meet the clients needs, securing a bulk supply of essential materials and having them transported to the remote location 
  • Coordinating with the contracted company who were in charge of collecting, transporting and onsite installations of our buildings.


Solutions:

  • Transportable Solutions fostered strong collaboration with industry partners and suppliers ensuring they were well informed about the programs progress and requirements ensuring the successful completion of this project was on time and on budget

  • The strength of communication between our project team and team of trades enabled Transportable solutions to Pivot and resource this project at short notice, adapting to the change in requirements and handover timeframes which exceeded expectations
